THE winner of this month’s Cully Card draw prize has given the prize to Operation Braveheart, the Cullompton-based charity which helps injured service personnel and their families.
Lucy Todd, who won the draw run by Cullompton Traders Association, has given her prize, an overnight stay for two at The White Hart, to the charity to help it raise funds for the Memorial Garden it is creating in the car park next to the Hayridge Centre library building in Cullompton.
Lucy’s husband, Carl, was a friend of Daniel Coffey, who was fatally wounded in Iraq in February 2007 while protecting fellow soldiers from an ambush by gunmen in Basra.
Daniel’s grandfather, David Godfrey, started Operation Braveheart to raise money for injured service personnel and their families in Daniel’s memory.
