The Somerset plane crash this weekend claimed four members of the same family say police.
The six-seater came down on Saturday lunchtime in a field near Churchinford on the Somerset Devon borders near the Blackdown Hills.
Police said the four were from Surrey, and were a 56-year-old man, a 55-year-old woman, a 23-year-old woman and a man aged 20.
Supt Richard Corrigan said: "Our thoughts are with the family at this extremely difficult time. The focus of the activity will be to investigative inquiries and then recover the aircraft. Road closures remain in place around the crash site."
The plane crashed on land owned by David Manning, of Higher Southey farm in Somerset, said the plane crashed on his land and said a neighbour told him about the accident but there was nothing they could do. Some roads near the crash site were closed by police.
The plane was heading from the Surrey towards Dunkeswell Aerodrome in Devon, five miles from the crash site.
Police said that formal identification has not yet taken place and a joint investigation with the Air Accidents Investigation Branch is under way.
