CULLOMPTON Rugby Club U16s got the opportunity to train with Premiership finalists Exeter Chiefs last week, as stars Don Armand and Kai Horstmann gave them a helping hand.

The training session took place on Tuesday April 26, under the floodlit astro-turf next to the Chiefs’ Sandy Park stadium, with the evening forming part of Cullompton company Watson Fuel's sponsorship of the AVIVA Premiership club.

The session followed Cullompton U16s usual practice, with Armand and Horstmann interjecting throughout to offer the youngsters tips and advice on how to improve their personal and collective game.

Keith Kennaugh, Cullompton RFC U16s coach said: “The chance to work with Don and Kai was absolutely priceless for the lads.

“Their knowledge is obviously second to none, so for our boys to have the opportunity to learn from players we watch on the television week in week out was immense, and we thank Watson Fuels for giving us the opportunity to participate.

“The boys absolutely loved it and they learned a lot.”

Andrew Watson, Marketing Manager at Watson Fuels added, “We love being able to give a local club such as Cullompton the opportunity to train with professionals such as Kai and Don.

“It’s not something a young rugby player gets to experience every day so we’re delighted Watson Fuels is able to offer this from time to time.”
