A BRADNINCH councillor has expressed his sadness over a suspected hit and run in the town which has left a man with serious injuries.
Devon and Cornwall Police were called to West End Road in Bradninch on Saturday night at 11.32pm.
A spokesperson said: “A 53-year-old man was found in the road with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.”
The man is said to be recovering and is in a stable condition at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
Bradninch Councillor Luke Taylor said: “The hit and run in Bradninch is obviously a very sad event and something that we hope doesn’t happen again.
“Bradninch is a thriving resilient town with so many events, including the music festival weekend that we pull together to get through these few incidents that can occur.
“I hope that the offenders come forward and wish the injured resident a speedy recovery and know his family and friends will be there for him.”
Police say they don’t know what type of vehicle may have been involved in the incident yet. The collision is believed to have happened in the hours of darkness.
Weather and road conditions were good, police said, although they deteriorated during time at the scene. If you have any information about the vehicle involved, contact 101 quoting log number DCP-20160611 - 1058
