MID Devon Cougars took both rinks away to South Hams Foxes in the West Country Summer League to win 41-32.

The Cougars were rewarded with the maximum seven points thanks to a splendid finish.

Peter Ball’s rink scored a four and two on the 20th and 21st ends while Alec Collard’s rink scored a five and a one on their last two ends.

Scores: Owen Pile, Ray Legg, Brian Wood and Alec Collard won 22-16; Enid Legg, Ken White, Harry McGeehan and Peter Ball won 19-18.

Mid Devon also enjoyed successful trip to Exeter, beating ISCA 66-61 in a friendly.

Scores: Pat Holloway, Pauline Black and Harry McGeehan won 18-14; Audrey Maidman, Bill Maidman and Alec Collard won 18-14; Owen Pile, Janice Robinson and Peter Ball won 20-13; Ken White, Janet Cox and Dave Robinson lost 10-20.

In the club’s Monday Morning League The Eagles (Janice Robinson) continued their good run to stay in top spot with 12 points from seven matches.

They have the same number of points as the Magpies (Ian Kimber) but have a better shot difference.

Scores: Magpies (Ian Kimber) 25, Finches (Ken White) 7; Robins (Melvyn Hudd) 13, Eagles (Janice Robinson) 16; Sparrows (Alan Keeble) 15, Wrens (David Downes) 14.

The Thursday Morning League is currently being led by Venus (Janice Robinson) with 16 points from nine matches.

They are just ahead of Jupiter with 14 points from nine matches.
