MID Devon began their Inter Club League campaign with an impressive 95-58 victory over Kingsley.
Dave Hoaen’s rink demolished Peter Wade’s rink by 38 shots, the Kingsley rink only winning three ends.
Home scores: John Lobbett, Russell Ellacott, Lloyd Daniels and Dave Hoaen won 43-5; Peter Ball, Tony Miller, Jonathan Hoaen and Phil Atkins won 15-14.
Away scores: Ken White, Merv Grimsey, Bob Pulsford and John Griffin lost 16-28; Ray White, Dave P Smith, Dave Robinson and Brian Poole won 21-11.
In the National Champions of Champions Mid Devon’s Phil Atkins progressed to the next round by beating Peter Wade of Kingsley 21-9.
The scores were very even until Atkins took control on his own carpet.
The score was 9-9 after 11 ends then Phil won the last eight without reply. In the National Mixed Pairs the duo of Beryl Willis and David Hoaen enjoyed a 22-5 win over Jan Roberts and Ken Roberts from Exmouth club Madeira.
