AN ELDERLY female has been rushed to hospital with rib injuries and breathing difficulties after lorry and car crashed on M5.
The crash was on the M5 southbound near junction 27 for Tiverton.
One lane was closed in the southbound direction with heavy traffic buildup.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision involving a car which went into the back of a lorry."
Lane one of three is closed near the entry slip road.
The motorway was blocked for a time while emergency services made their way to the incident.
South Western ambulance service were called two the two vehicle crash at around 1.15pm.
A spokesman said that there is one casualty who is an elderly female with rib injuries and breathing difficulties.
The woman has been taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
