PROBLEMS with the global supply chain are leaving many supermarket shelves empty.
As a result, rising prices look set to hit our pockets by the end of the year, according to trade body the British Retail Consortium (BRC).
But while shoppers may be inclined to feel a bit down about the outlook in stores, one supermarket seems to be suggesting a way to conquer the gloom.
At Sainsbury's in Street, shelf stackers have decided to suggest a new 'ready meal'.
For that section of the shelving in the refridgerated section of the store has instead been stocked with CIDER.
The Somerset staple completely packed out the 'ready meals' section on Monday (November 1), and may be a wise suggestion for the county's cider drinkers.
