A PAIR of songwriters from Somerset have released a song about the Knife Angel sculpture currently on display in Taunton.

Ken Lintern and Micky John Bull, from the North Somerset area, were inspired to write the song after hearing about knife crime on the news.

They hope their new song 'Knife Angel' will send out a message to raise awareness and warn of the dangers of carrying a blade.

It's now available to download or stream on all major platforms.

Micky, who wrote the lyrics, said: “When someone kills someone it’s not just something that happens at that moment.

"Afterwards, when they are in jail, they will be living a lifetime of regret just for that one moment of madness.

"The message of the song is that no good comes from carrying a knife.

Ken added: “We just felt that even if we stopped one or two people from carrying knives that would be one or two people who wouldn’t get killed somewhere along the way,” says Ken.

“I’ve still got teenagers and thinking about my kids going out in Bristol or anywhere at night, you think you might get that terrifying phone call or the knock on the door saying that your child has been attacked."
