WEST Somerset equestrian Jack Capel has been flying the flag for Somerset around the world and was Highly Commended in the Pride of Somerset Youth Awards.
The 16-year-old from Wootton Courtenay, near Minehead, rode for Great Britain in Calgary, Canada, in June, winning team silver, then went on to become European Champion, winning gold medal in Marseille.
He completed a hat trick when he and his partner won the World Pairs Championship at Newark in August.
He is a sports leader at West Somerset Community College, Minehead, and studies at Richard Huish College in Taunton.
